From what I can see Tool has very limited number of art pictures for their albums and very few videos, but the ones they have are beyond normal imagination. Just look at their videos, they seem dark, they have a distorted view of things but they are appealing and they make you stare at every single detail, they have that power. The same thing is with Tool cover art, it is magnificent work of Adam Jones and Maynard that makes some of the songs represented in the whole new world.
Now there are people that love their cover art and some of that art can be found on CD covers and some can even be found on Tool merch. But there is now much more than just original Tool cover art or call it what you like, Tool did not just invent a whole new music genre that is expanding even now but they also brought all sorts of new art forms with them. So after their first few videos and cover art people started copying them, now I will present three magnificent items with Tool Art on them, it is yours to figure out which ones are original and which ones are fake, anyway they all look great.
The first item I loved from the moment I saw it was Tool Bardo T-shirt. Like I said, it’s hard to tell which one is the original and which are not, but nevertheless these pictures are terrifying and beautiful at the same time, the perfect thing for any Tool fan.
The next one is Tool Brain T-shirt, now I know you probably think this is not the original Tool cover art, but think again and do your research, try to find a bigger picture you might see something hidden. Brain is a maze, so don’t be surprised if you find something following the path down that picture.
The last one is my favorite of all Tool merch with amazing art, Tool Block II T-shirt. It reminds me of Vicarious from the 10,000 Days album, I think that was the original art before they went to make the video for the song.
I think that the best shirts or any form of band merch should have a signature sign of a band. I mean if I have an Obituary shirt I want a Grip Reaper on it, the same thing goes for any other band, I want their signature and when it comes to Tool their signature isn’t a single Logo, their signature is their uniqueness in everything they do.
